IF YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY, REGISTER & VOTE!

VOTER REGISTRATION BASICS

As a Los Angeles County resident you may register to vote:

  • If you are a citizen of the United States; 
  • If you are at least 18 years of age (or will be by the date of the next election); 
  • Are not in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.

Here are some easy ways to register to vote:

  • Register By Mail – You can mail a completed Voter Registration form to our office. Voter Registration forms may be obtained in the following ways:
    • Request A Voter Registration Form By Phone
      Residents may request that a Voter Registration form be mailed by calling the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s general information telephone numbers: (562) 466-1310 or (800) 481-VOTE, 24 hours a day.
    • Obtain A Voter Registration Form At Most Government Buildings
      Voter Registration forms are available throughout Los Angeles County at most County buildings, city halls, fire stations, libraries, State Motor Vehicle Offices, Public Assistance Offices (DPSS, WIC), and post offices. You can also get the form at any Tea Party Patriots – SCV meeting.
  • Register On Line – You can download a Voter Registration form by visiting www.sos.ca.gov/nvrc/fedform/. You must print and mail the form to the address listed in order for the registration to be finalized.
  • If you have moved recently, had a name change, or wish to switch parties you need to fill out the same registration form as new registrants.  It's that easy!

VOTING IN ELECTIONS BASICS

Tea Party Patriots - SCV strongly advises all voters to utilize the Vote By Mail option as it increases the likelihood that voters participate AND it provides them with a way to verify their votes were received.  To become a PAV (Permanent Absentee Voter) return the form located here

To find out whether your absentee ballot has been received, check here

If your ballot has not been received by election day, go to your precinct and vote with a provisional ballot.  You can find your polling location here

Sample ballots are mailed out to each registered voter approximately 4 weeks prior to an election.  You may also find copies online here
